The westernmost country in Europe, Portugal is cut through by the river Tejo (the longest river in Iberia) which empties into the Tagus Estuary. The Atlantic Ocean with its swirling indigo and turquoise water and pretty islands (some of which belong to Portugal) lazes on the Portuguese coast.
